The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority was founded to meet the waste disposal needs and protect the interests of Marquette County residents. Marquette County is indebted to the men and women who brought together the entire County in a strong agreement that will do what is best for Marquette County residents. The Authority's mission is:
Mission Statement
"To operate the landfill at the least financial cost while operating the landfill in an environmentally sound manner. The Authority shall concentrate its efforts on a cost efficient landfill operation while attempting to implement resource recovery projects and diverting hazardous waste from disposal in the landfill. The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority shall set solid waste management policy and solid waste system implementation in consultation with the Marquette County Board of Commissioners and the Marquette County Planning Commission."
